    Preacher curls keeps tension when the bicep is in a lengthened position. Regular bicep curls loses tension as the arm straightens. Remember time under tension is what builds muscle

    I’m a climber and do these pretty consistently. I think if you can hold a lock off at optimally 90 degrees it engages the core fantastically. Really all depends what you want out of the exercise
